Just got the news that the Rainbow Pages Foundation will be hosting a fundraiser at the Ensemble Studio Theatre with a special performance of the Wiz.

We spoke briefly with Roberto C. Candelaria of the Rainbow Pages who was very excited about the upcoming event. The release sent over stated, “The main focus of the foundation will be; providing access to higher education for GLBT students, developing workforce training seminars to help place GLBT adults back into the workforce with corporations that offer same sex benefits, to create a program to address the needs of GLBT people of color and create a gender identity program.

Ultimately we are about helping achieve equality in a local, state and federal level to bring all GLBT people closer to a world free from discrimination of sexual orientation and gender identity and expression.”

The Wiz has been running for several weeks to sold out shows (no surprise coming from Ensemble) and has gotten great reviews. The benefit will be held on July 16th with a reception starting at 6:30, seating at 7 and the show starts at 7:30 pm sharp. Tickets for this event are $50.00 and a limited number of half price tickets can be purchased here for $30.00.
