Santa Monica Blvd To Shut Down

e-ho earth day

On April 25th & 26th for the 2009 East Hollywood Earth Day. The Festival is a ZERO WASTE event organized by a group of conveners taking community action to develop a Zero Waste Pilot Plan in East Hollywood. Mainly, the conveners include The Armenian-American Chamber of Commerce, the East Hollywood Neighborhood Council and and ZERO WASTE. Three stages will be set up at The Vermont/Santa Monica Metro Station, one at the Santa Monica/Vermont Shopping Mall (Staples, Rite Aids, ethnic foods, etc.) and the third will be set within the Green Circle. The Green Circle is a blocked street fair comprised of 50 booths stretching between Virgil and Madison Avenues on Santa Monica Blvd. The 2-day fest promises performing arts, music, a light pole art installation (parking lot of Shopping Mall), food, more food and plenty of environmental discussion…should be action packed. And apparently cross-pollinating does occur in East Hollywood. Project Butterfly is arriving to ensure this happens.
