Company of Angels Theatre, the longest existing repertory theater company in town (Downtown, to be exact), just about to celebrate 50 years of artistic activity, decided to stretch the Halloween spooky climates into November. From Damon Chua, the winner of the 2007 Ovation Award for Best World Premiere play comes a new tragi-comedy Directed by Armando Molina – The Ghost Building. Although the plot is strictly criminal, the suspense revolves around the spiritual experience of of a 1920s-era movie starlet and a present-day writer. Well, it says a lot about the haunted halo of the intrigue.
Alike most of CoA’s productions, The Ghost Building is a story about Los Angeles and Angelenos. If you desire the life-sized mirror or just want to peep into LA’s life – come to the Black Box at the Alexandria.

The Company of Angels has a new home and its a dramatic, beautiful venue well worth the trip to The Alexandria Hotel even if they werent serving up a hilarious, wonderfully acted, multi-leveled mystery/comedy that time-travels between today and fifty years ago in seamless fashion. The direction, writing and, of course, the captivating performances of seven fine actors all come together to make The Ghost Building a wonderfully satisfying Downtown surprise.
